What To Look For In A Comforter

Down

  • Down is the lightest, most effective insulator known to man. Down clusters are made up of light, fluffy filaments that expand and intertwine to form air pockets. Down is a natural product that regulates warmth and allows you to maintain your natural body temperature. Down keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer for year round comfort.

    True Baffle Box Construction

  • This type of construction has thin fabric wall channels that connect the comforter top and bottom. This allows for the down to be held in place allowing for maximum loft, less shifting and the elimination of cold spots for greater warmth. True baffle box construction is the only way to ensure that the down will not shift.

    Fill Power

  • The measurement of the quality of the down. The higher the fill power, the fluffier the comforter. The benefit is that less down is needed to fill the comforter, resulting in lightweight year round warmth. Look for down comforters with a fill power of at least 550. More luxurious quality down comforters will have a fill power of at least 600. Our soft, warm down comforters have a fill power of 750, the highest in the industry!

    Thread Count

  • Thread Count- The number of threads per square inch of fabric. The finest quality Down Comforters will have a 100% cotton cover with a thread count of at least 200. The higher the thread count, the more durable and softer the cover. The higher thread count covers protect down from impurities as well as keep the down inside the comforter. Our quality down comforters have a thread count of 900!

    Hypo-Allergenic

  • Hypo Allergenic- Down that has gone through a series of steps to remove all the impurities, dirt and dander, will be noted as hypoallergenic or allergy free. Most people are not allergenic to down, but rather, to the impurities within the down. Not all Down Comforters are hypoallergenic.
    • Great for any season, your Down Comforter will keep you warm in winter and cool in the summer.
    • Gently shake your new Comforter to air it out and re-fluff the Down.
    • Use a Duvet Cover to keep your Comforter cleaner, longer.
    • Machine-wash and dry on gentle settings, or professionally dry clean for best results.
    • Store your Down Comforter in a breathable bag, avoiding plastic which will trap moisture & mildew.

**The need to redistribute the fill in your Down Comforter is a natural occurrence not a defect.

Simply redistribute the Down by shaking it toward the area where you want it, or by laying the comforter on a flat surface and pushing the Down to that area.
